YESTERDAY'S LEARNINGS - THE WAY OF LEARNING
I learned the following things mentioned below on 8/8/22 from the book SHOW YOUR WORK BY Austin Kleon.
GIVE CREDIT IF SHARED OTHER'S WORK :
- If you share work or art of others then give them proper credit because they deserve it, if you can't find the right credit, don't share.
- giving credits via tweet, blog etc might feel like an effort, but it's worth it.
- Give credit and give equal respect as if it was your work.
- when you don't give credit, you not only rob the artist but also the people you share with.
HAVE YOUR NAME ( DOMAIN ) ON THE INTERNET :
- We all use social media but they come and go as time passes by remember Myspace? Friendster? GeoCities?
- But when you have your own website with your name, you have purchased the domain and you have all the claims and rights.
- If you want to share and express yourself online nothing beats having your own space online.
SOME AMAZING QUOTES I CAME ACROSS YESTERDAY :
Don’t think of your website as a self-promotion machine, think of it as a self-invention machine.
Build a good domain name, keep it clean, and eventually it will be its own currency. Whether people show up or they don’t, you’re out there, doing your thing, ready whenever they are.
“If you work on something a little bit every day, you end up with something that is massive.”
—Kenneth Goldsmith
